Within the past two weeks, I purchased several items: GMRS repeater, HAM repeater, Motorola XPR 5550 (VHF), and Motorola XPR 5550e (UHF).
All these items use 13.8 volt power source; and, I use all these items as a home-base units or as mobile units out in the field.
Using them for my mobile excursions isn’t a problem; cuz, when I’m mobile, I’m only gonna take one of them with me; the challenge is that at home — all these items need to be plugged in, all at once, for my social and mission-critical auxillary comms events.
So, in comes the Ashtron VS-50M — you can read about the specs of this power supply on the Internet.
My possible solution, as proposed by my HAM acquaintance, Wayne, is to use the Ashtron VS-50M as the power distributor to a power distribution box, which has Anderson Pole Connectors.
According to Wayne, the Ashtron VS-50M is an excellent power supply; because, it provides clean and consistent current, which can be set at any voltage.
The power distribution box can be purchased to accommodate all my equipment mentioned within the four corners of this BLOG.
When I took possession and custody of the items herein, I immediately installed Anderson Power Pole Connector to their respective power cables.
So, once I take possession and custody of the Ashtron VS-50M, hopefully in the next couple of days, I will do as Wayne recommended; so, stay tuned for updates to this BLOG; and, let’s see if the Ashtron VS-50M and the Anderson Pole power distribution box will work to provide all my equipment, herein, with clean and consistent voltage.
