After extensive background checks, basic qualifications testing, boating test, ICS-100, and ICS-700, I am finally in the USCGAUX (United States Coast Guard Auxiliary).
Now, I can proudly wear the uniform.
So what happens now?
Well, I will be working on getting my ribbons and shoulder bars in aviation, SAR, vessel inspection, and radio communications.
Yesterday, 19-May-2018, I participated in my first USCG Water Safety Fair at USCG Golden Gate Station; and, it was a lot of fun.
The Marin County Sheriff’s Department, San Francisco Fire Department, California Highway Patrol, and the USCG K-9 Bomb Unit showed up to educate the public of some of the work we do and to promote water safety.
I am so fortunate to be part of a knowledgeable, experienced, skilled, talented, and supportive group of men and women of the United States Coast Guard and United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.
Semper Paratas and Check 6!
