Alfonso Faustino: Bugging out to Los Angeles (K6ASF)

I have to hit Los Angeles for a production meeting; so, I have my Maxpedtion Mongo Versipack all packed and ready to go for my short hop to Los Angeles.

I’m bringing my PCC to set up at the studio to see if I can make some contact with the Los Angeles HAM folks.

Normally, I would not bring my PCC because I fly down; however, since my physician grounded me due to my hay-fever, I have to drive down; so, I figure, “why not bring my PCC?”

It was good talking to you yesterday. It turns out, we DO have the same GT3. That’s a good little radio there. Thank you for the info regarding the CARLA repeaters. That’s a new one for me to check out.
    See you in the air.

    1. Howdy, Chris. Thanks for stopping by and for your comment. Yes, I enjoyed talking with you — hopefully, we will talk again, soon. I really dig the GT3; it is really a wonderful hand-held transceiver, and I enjoy using it. I’m glad you looked into CARLA; I’m on System 2 and System 5; and, as I mentioned, also on the repeater that you and I first talked, which I think is the Twin Peaks repeater. I’m not that involved with the San Francisco Radio Club; but, I will look into some of the events and start to participate.

I am, now, a General; and, I will look into purchasing and HF antenna and try some DX. Though, I’m also a digital HAM, and I use System Fusion; and, I have already spoke to people in Japan and Europe; I guess the challenge is speaking to people in those countries using the atmosphere and propagation.

Well, have a great evening, Chris. Thanks, again, for your comment.
